📄 Course Description
The course provides an introduction to linguistics, covering the six linguistic levels of analysis: phonetics and phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis. It aims to develop students' knowledge and understanding of language and its analysis.

- Develop students' knowledge of linguistic studies and theories.
- Acquire technical vocabulary in the field of linguistics.
- Analyse language at different levels and in different contexts.
- Explore the nature and structure of human language.

📍 Pre-Requisites
- Foundational knowledge of key linguistic concepts from prior language learning experience, including parts of speech, word classes, and sentence structure.
- Basic comprehension of core areas in linguistics as a scientific field of inquiry, such as phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. Fundamental skills in phonetic transcription and classifying morpheme types are presumed.

Evaluation Method
Students' final grades will be determined by 50% from continuous assessment (attendance, participation, behaviour, and a test) and 50% from the end-of-semester exam.
