  • English for students of geology

    The English for Geologists is a university English course for training specialists in the fields of "Hydrogeology and Geology.

    The courses are designed to develop reading skills,translation, annotation, and abstracting of authentic texts in English on

    the history of geology, general areas of geology and related sciences, and as well as the formation of knowledge and skills of professional and everyday communication.

    The structure of the courses allows the teacher to choose the best ways of organizing both classroom and independent work of students with taking into account their level of knowledge.

  • Topic 1

    ObjectivesThis course aims in helping the students: 

    • To know the basic of geology, its scope and its various branches 

    • To introduce fundamental aspects of Earth  and its related changes with time. 

    • To know the various processes of weathering and the processes resulting in their formation of soil

    • To understand composition of various minerals, rock and their properties.
    •  To develop a skills for application of geology to engineering problems.
