This course essentially focuses on the fundamental notions of general chemistry (structure of matter). It provides an introduction to basic concepts such as atoms, molecules, chemical bonds, chemical reactions, the properties of gases, liquids and solids, and the laws that govern the behaviour of matter. macroscopic and microscopic scale.

We take the opportunity to sketch a historical perspective of the great chemical discoveries and to describe the most common compounds in our environment.
