Course Description
This course introduces students to basic notions and standards of research methodology, including citations, referencing, and academic writing. It seeks to inculcate good learning and ethical habits in the students and to prepare them for their Master’s dissertation writing and viva defence. It also aims at developing their academic, reflective, social, technological, and oral skills which are deemed to be necessary in their learning.

Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to know how to:
-make research on a topic
-brainstorm, outline, and develop their ideas
-quote, paraphrase, summarise, and write the list of reference
-draft, write academically, proofread, revise, and submit their extended essays
-design a PowerPoint
-deliver an oral presentation

Evaluation System
As part of the TD mark, students will be assessed on a number of assignments that will be given back to the teacher for correction. The final exam will be based on course comprehension that would be evaluated in the form of activities. The student who has not obtained a 10 average will then be invited to take the make-up exam. The calculation of the final average after the make-up exam will be the sum of the TD mark and the make-up mark divided by 2.
