  • Course Description

    Reading and Text Analysis course is designed to test the students' ability to read and understand passages on academic topics from journals, books, newspapers and magazines. This course aims to equip students with the skill of effectively processing the content of a text and comprehending its meaning. It also tests a range of different reading skills through different types of reading tasks.

  • Course Objectives

    The module enables students to:

    Ÿ      Develop their reading / comprehension skills.

    Ÿ      Interpret different speeches.

    Ÿ      Identify the views and the claims of the writer.

    Ÿ      Recognize the writer's arguments.


  • Pre-requisites

    Ÿ      Students should be at least at upper-intermediate level in English.

    Ÿ      Students should be able to identify both main ideas and detailed information of the text.
