    Language is used for mathematical purposes, where at  least one reading text per unit is intergrated with various writting activities. At least one listening activity is also intergrated with speaking activity.

    This module provides an overview of the course and a review of the main tools used in descriptive statistics to visualize information.

    In this module we will learn about probabilities and perform our first calculations using probability formulas. We want to get comfortable with the idea that probabilities describe the chance of uncertain events occurring.

    • Recognize common situations in which you can apply probability.
    • Calculate probabilities in simple applications.
    • Express the erroneous thinking in the conjunction fallacy.
    • Illustrate Benford's Law with real-world data.

     

  • Prerequisites

    Students should be familiar with calculus and linear algebra. Knowledge of probability, statistics, or programming is helpful but optional.
